Alisha and Joe
To say that this day has been a long time coming is an understatement…
Alisha and Joe first reached out to me about photographing their wedding two years ago, (shout out Covid), and had to reschedule their wedding day TWO full times due to the pandemic. These guys put their full trust into me while I was still in undergrad and have cheered me on and believed in me ever since then. They currently live in Texas and all of their guests are from out of state, so just imagine the craziness they had to go through to get to their wedding day. The day finally came, they celebrated their marriage and read their vowels on the dock of a family friends private residence on the intercostal in Wilmington. The crazy long wait and chaos they went through for this day was no doubt worth every SINGLE second… ♥️
Their wedding day was a reminder of why I do this and how truly of an HONOR that this is my job!!! They got married on the dock of their friend Jill and Patrick. Their house made for the perfect wedding venue!
Also… shout out to Ms. Jill – she is easily now one of my favorite human being ever and I wish everyone had a hype woman like her.
When Alisha and Joe started dating, they gave each other pebbles – basically like penguins do to their lovers. They both gifted each other porcelain penguins as a gift to each other on wedding day without the other knowing prior! It was such a cute moment and the best way to start off their wedding day.
If you know ANYTHING about Alisha, it is that she is so not the typical American housewife who provides her husband a sandwich at the the instant he asks for one, (though she totally would!). Joe also gifted her these books on how to be the perfect housewife and it was hilarious!!!
Alisha and Joe got married in March of 2020, so in honor of the year of marriage, Alisha painted a four leaf clover on one of her fingers and a pride flag on the other. Their wedding was in June so it was perfect and fitting!
Let’s just take a second to appreciate the beautiful Ballast Hotel Wilmington in Downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. Come through good lighting!!
These florals from Jennifer Wilson of Belle Ame Events in Wilmington were to absolutely die for. This was Jennifers first time decorating/ doing florals for a wedding that she was also COORDINATING! She’s a superstar and it was the worlds biggest honor working along side of her for the past couple years in preparation for this long awaited day!!
Aislinn practicing before she performed Can’t Help Falling In Love for Alisha and Joes first dance.
As previously mentioned, Alisha and Joe got married in 2020 after having to postpone their wedding two times, but they still had never seen each other in their wedding day attire. They had their first look in the same exact spot that they were about to say their vowels at! This part of the day was hard to capture dry-eyed lol.
Joes dad gifted him this bottle of Midleton Very Rare vintage release. The first Midleton Very Rare bottling was released in 1984 and a new vintage is released every year. They’re super rare and hard to find, hence their name! Each bottle is individually numbered and signed by the Master Distiller which is considered to be the mark of a true whiskey masterpiece. Midleton Very Rare is consistently awarded the highest honours at the world’s most respected whiskey awards.
Alisha was not a fan! Lol.
the sweetest dance.
the most beautiful light on the most beautiful day.
Wilmington North Carolina, you never ever disappoint!!
Alisha requested a photo of her and Joe walking from behind at some point during their wedding day… I definitely captured a few to make sure I granted her wishes, but this one was a favorite for sure. 🖤
Jennifer Wilson (Belle Ame Events) and Shawn Booth (DJ) were so fun to work with! I may or may not have forgotten a bag of mine at the wedding venue while leaving later in the night and had to turn around to get it after driving a solid 50 minutes out of Wilmington. Thankfully, Jennifer took my bag back with her to my house AND bought me McDonald’s on her way home. If you think that vendors get to play and eat alllll of the food on wedding days…. I’m here to tell you that you are so wrong!! Lol. There’s simply no time! Thank you so much again, Jennifer. You’re so awesome!!
Not even going to lie to you all… I totally had seconds. Nothing Bundt Cakes cupcakes!?! You have to!
Hahaha… this one!
Jack was clearly a dance floor hit. Look at those moves!!!
easily two of my favorite photos from Alisha and Joes wedding day… The jokingly said that this would probably be their Christmas card this year… and a huge part of me hopes that they’re serious!!! 🖤
Alisha and Joe became my friends so quickly. From the moment I met them in 2019 it was just so easy. They felt like friends that I’ve known my entire lifetime on day one and for that alone, I am forever grateful. After a rocky year and a half since covid, it was simply amazing to see everyone who had part in Alisha and Joes wedding day come together and celebrate. Like I said… It was worth every single second!
Congratulations again, Mr. and Mrs. Coyle
Your wedding day will forever be one of my favorite days!!
